I got tagged to do this quiz by the lovely Siaan from Mummy Needs A Daiquiri. I think it’s a lovely way to sum up the year.
What was your highlight of 2016?
My main highlight of 2016 was Archie’s first birthday. Family and friends came from near and far to celebrate my little boys 1st year. It was a lovely day and something I’ll always look back on with fond memories. This year as a whole has been a massive learning curve for the both of us. Watching Archie grow from a baby to a toddler, exceeding milestones sooner than expected and turning into the loving happy little boy he is today.
Name one thing you are most likely to remember about 2016 if asked in 5 years time.
2016. This is the year we bought a house. We searched many properties, spent endless nights scrolling through estate agents websites and felt the excitement and heartache of buying our first home.
Sum up in one word.
Name one pearl of wisdom from 2016 that you will carry through 2017.
To not compare myself to others. Weight, materialistic things or how our children are developing. In a world where everyone judges you, I will not judge myself. I am content with my life and the people in it.
Do you have any new years resolutions?
I haven’t made any new years ‘resolutions’ this year but have instead made some new years wishes. These are things that I wish to do by the end of 2017. I didn’t want to call them resolutions as it puts too much pressure on it.
How are you seeing in the new year?
This year Callum Archie and I stayed at home with my sister to see in the new year. We got party food, Prosecco and watched Harry Potter until near 12 o clock. Archie woke up at 12 from our neighbours fireworks so I spent the rest of the evening / early morning snuggling in bed with him.
What would you most like to do in 2017?
This year I would like to spend more time together as a family. Go on more outdoor adventures. Spend quality time together. 2016 was spent working our butts off so that we could save for our family home. Family time didn’t happen often and on the weekends we were trying to get everything done that we hadn’t done in the week rather than spend quality time together.
What are your main goals for 2017?
My main goals for this year is to look after myself more. To eat well, make time for myself and look after my mental health. 2016 was the year I let myself go, not only physically but emotionally. Things got stressful, I ate badly and didn’t take care of my own feelings.
I’m not going to tag any one specific to do this tag as I’m sure I’m the last one to do this, but I tag you all to take part and tag me in your posts so I can read your responses.
I hope 2017 is good to you all.
Love Tilly & Archie xx
