Pumpkin Picking: Sopley Mill

About a month ago I wrote a post called Fall Bucket List, where I listed everything I wanted to do this fall. Slowly but surely I have been crossing them off one by one. Pumpkin picking is one of my favourite things to do in the autumn especially since having Archie. Its lots of fun and definitely makes for some cute photos.

For the last couple of years Callum and I have gone to a local pick your own farm called Dan Tanners (Sopley Mill)  to pick our pumpkins. Not only does it make for some cute photos, but were supporting the local community. I love the fact you can stroll around a field and pick your own perfect pumpkin whilst getting some fresh air.

This year I went twice with Archie, once with my friend and her little boy and the second with Callum and my sister. Archie absolutely loved it last year, he was sitting in the pumpkins, banging on them and giggling his head off. This year he wasn’t so sure. He didn’t particularly want to go near them and I had to really work for a smile from him. I don’t know if it is because each time we went it was close to his nap time or if he was genuinely scared of them.

Luckily with the help of some raisins for bribery and Daddy pulling him around in a sleigh we had the best time. We chose 3 pumpkins, 1 for each of us, and had a browse round the farm shop. I absolutely love all the locally grown fruit and veg and the homemade jars of jam and biscuits.

Here are some of my favourite photos of our trip to the pumpkin farm this year. I cant wait to do this every year and keep in tradition and see how Archie grows each year.

Love Tilly & Archie xx
