Archie: 1 month old.

Wow what a month! I can’t believe my tiny 6lbs 11oz baby boy is now 1 whole month old and weighing 7lbs 6oz. The past 4 weeks have been a whirlwind of sleepless nights, dirty nappies and unconditional love. I don’t think it has even fully sunk in yet that I am a Mummy. For 4 whole weeks I have been a Mummy to the most beautiful little boy. My life has been completely flip turned upside down but I can not imagine my life without him.

Archie is exclusively breastfed and has taken so well to it. To start with we had a few complications, he wouldn’t latch onto the right side and I developed mastitis but now he is feeding well on both sides. He gets fed every 2 hours throuout the day and every 4 hours throughout the night. Each feed can last anything from 10 minutes to half an hour. He has the occasional feed that can last 30+ minutes.

Bedtime starts with his bath at 6:30pm then he gets fed and is allowed to snuggle sleep on mummy or daddy until we go to bed around 11. Archie will then have his one last feed before bed and goes straight down in his Moses basket to sleep. Generally Archie will sleep until about 2/3am where he will wake for a feed then go back down until 6/7am. From 6/7am the cycle starts again of feeding every 2 hours.

From around a week old Archie has been able to smile, at first we put this down to wind but he is a proper little smiler now. He is a very content baby and loves to have a story read to him. He has been a very spoilt boy and is extremely loved.

This month I was luckily enough to have my first Mothers Day with my baby boy. I was a very proud Mummy and got spoilt from my boys. I can’t believe how fast my little boy is growing but bring on next month and let’s see what it holds for the 3 of us.

Love Tilly & Archie xx
