For the past 12 days I have had the pleasure of scurrying off to Tunisia with my boyfriend to bask in the African sun.
As a last minute booking, things had to be organised pretty quickly. Trying to squeeze a holiday in during my second trimester and not interfering with my ever growing list of hospital appointments proved to be a challenge.
But we got here, and how we managed it I do not know. Normally I am fairly organised, or so I like to think. I’m the girl with all the travel documents in a special folder along with passports, boarding passes and any scrap of paper remotely involved in the holiday.
This holiday was no different, I had the folder, had everything in it and even managed to arrive at the airport on time. Things were running smoothly, or so I thought.
Having been awake for the last 24 hours, the last thing I wanted to do was unpack my suitcase upon arriving at the hotel.
When unpacking finally happened I realised that I had forgotten some major things. With my phone battery on 11%, I tried to plug it in. However silly me forgot the adapters. That means no iPhone charger, no iPad charger, no kindle charger and no straighteners or hair dryer.
Having a limit of 15KG luggage allowance, my case was torture trying to pack. I packed it and unpacked it a number of times before I finally got it on the correct weight limit. In doing so I managed to leave half of my outfits behind, along with charging adapters and toiletries.
Throughout the holiday I would walk into the bathroom and completely forget what I went in there for. Open the wardrobe and have no idea what I opened it for. Baby brain has definitely got the better of me at the moment. Its bad enough in your own house but in a completely different country when you depend on your memory is not a great mix.
However forgetful I may have been, I had a lovely time. It was a well earned break for our babymoon and definitely recharged the batteries. Thankfully, considering how poorly I have been prior to going on holiday, I didn’t fall ill once the whole time we was there. I would definitely recommend you pregnant ladies to take a short break in your second trimester with your partner for a last break before your new arrival is here.
