My Disney Princess Obsession.

To say that I am slightly obsessed with anything Disney would be an understatement. Particularly Disney Princesses.

I don’t know what it is, I just cant stop watching Disney films. I’m nearly 22 for goodness sake, I should of grown out of this ‘phase’ years ago.

As someone who grew up watching every single Disney movie multiple times, I totally get the obsession. Just like you, I know all the words to all the songs. And just like you, I squeal when one of them comes on the radio, or in the car. I can belt out โ€œA Whole New Worldโ€ just as well as the rest of them. But I honestly don’t know why people think that Disney Princess movies are a bad influence on children. Tiana, from The Princess and The Frog, was exceptionally independent and worked hard to achieve her aspirations and dreams. Mulan and Pocahontas fought for their countries. Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel and Jasmine all dreamt of having new experiences and meeting people. They are far more than boy obsessed damsels in distress. They are heroines.

I’m a girl, girls are ‘supposed’ to like all things pink and sparkly. Every girl wants to be treated like a Princess doesn’t she? I mean how many of us are kissing frogs to find our Prince?

So what if I love Disney Princesses, its just the same as boys and their cars. For now I’m living in my Princess fantasy living out my life as Rapunzel, because without dreams, there’s nothing.

Love, live, laugh, but most of all be happy.

If you want to be a Disney Princess then be one because you never know, your Prince might be round the corner looking for his Princess.

Keep Dreaming.

Love Tilly xx
