Two years ago my Grandad passed peacefully in a nursing home. A year later my lovely Nanny was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly.
Christmas is the hardest time of the year. Family are meant to be together. At the dinner table there is always empty seats where nothing but memories now lie.
Every Christmas, as tradition, my sisters and I open our ‘Santa sacks’ at the foot of our parents beds. Once this is done we venture downstairs and open our main presents.
Since the passing of my beautiful grandparents, traditions have changed. Instead of playing with all our new gifts, we visit each grandparent at the cemetery, lay a wreath and wish them happy Christmas.
You may be gone, but your never forgotten.
Love you always Nanny and Grandad. My beautiful guardian angels.
Love Tilly xx
