Jay Z – London O2 10/10/2013

I literally don’t even know where to start I am still SO speechless. Thursday 10th October 2013 is a night that I won’t forget anytime soon. I am still so buzzing from seeing Jay-Z live at London O2. The atmosphere was electric and everyone went wild when Jay-Z owned the stage.

Considering the doors opened at 6:30, the 2 hour drive straight from work didn’t get us into the arena until about 8:30.  Surprisingly this left us just the right amount of time to get in to the mood. As there was no support act 30 minutes was a substantial amount of time for a build-up.

Jay-Z rocked up 20 minutes late opening the show with his most recent songs from his new album Magna Carter Holy Grail. Not only did he perform his new tracks but also took a trip down memory lane performing some of his classics such as “N**ga’s In Paris’ ’99 Problems’ and ‘Run This Town’.

It was such a nice surprise when Timberland took over the decks during the interlude with ‘Cry Me A River’. I don’t think anybody had noticed him hiding behind the decks for the whole first half as Jay-Z was smashing up the stage.

I got such a buzz from the show and left with the biggest smile on my face and aching muscles from dancing and singing so much. Jay-Z closed the show with the classic ‘Forever Young’ getting everyone to shine their phone light or lighters in the air making the arena look like a midnight sky full of stars. It was truly magical.

Thank you Jay-Z for literally making a shitty month turn out to be the best month of the year.
